Call to Artists
Portland Shambhala
Arts Festival
March 19-21, 2010
Submissions Deadline: February 28th
The Portland Shambhala Arts Festival is part of an annual International Shambhala Arts Day Festival that celebrates the arts as one of the manifestations of enlightened society. Its intention is to empower the sacred in every day life through our art forms. The view of the weekend is to present art that is inspired by the Shambhala Art teachings of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
We invite artists from the sangha to share their contemplative art: visual, performance, installation, writing and poetics, ikebana, miksang (photography), dance, video, and more.
Please submit a short paragraph that illuminates your artistic practice and its connection to the Dharma. Please state clearly what is required to present your work. The Festival is not juried, all submissions will be included on a first come basis as space and time allow.
Details about the festival are coming soon. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Shambhala Art Coordinator.
